Be Your Own Life Coach #15 - Losing Weight and Quitting Nicotine For The New Year

This is the time of year for new beginnings and change. Traditionally, two of the biggest changes people contemplate at this time of year are quitting Nicotine or losing weight. Sometimes both!


This year the government has actually brought in legislation to deal with Vaping such are the health threats associated with it. And, like cigarettes, this habit can be hard to break due to the difficulty of nicotine addiction.


Hypnotherapy has proven to be very effective in breaking this nicotine dependency quickly and easily. Unfortunately, too often, people only turn to Hypnotherapy as a last resort after trying lots of other methods. But even in these cases Hypnotherapy is very successful.


In one session of Hypnosis, Nicotine can be beaten, no matter how heavy a smoker you are, or how much you Vape.


If you are one of the few still smoking, New Year is the ideal time to make a fresh start. Literally, it is time to feel what fresh air feels like in your lungs, what fresh food tastes and smells like again.


If you, or anyone you know, is Vaping, it is time to ditch that dangerous habit now and take back control of your life and your money and spend both in better ways.


Many people still have the old impression of “stage hypnosis" shows. But there, the antics are only possible because the subjects have volunteered themselves to do these things in the first place. Clinical Hypnosis was really the first form of Mindfulness and in many ways is exactly the same.


Hypnosis, when used therapeutically, is simply deep, pleasant relaxation. The client is fully aware at all times of what is happening around them and in full control of everything they say and do. They can “awaken” at any time should they choose to.


The other traditional New Year resolution is to lose weight.


Most people who consider that they have an ongoing “weight problem” are already experts in weight loss! They have probably studied and even tried the diets and exercise regimes. They know that it is a “simple” case of eating less and exercising more. But some people can’t seem to commit to or stick to this. Some others even sometimes find that, no matter what they do, their weight doesn’t change. So they don’t need someone else to tell them what they already know again.


Hypnotherapy can be applied here in two ways. Most people can be helped with very few sessions, (maybe one to three). Their goal is set deep in their mind and their motivation and conviction is strengthened and focused. The benefits and joys of regaining control over your weight are felt and doing what needs to be done becomes easy and enjoyable.


In some people, there is a deeper-rooted psychological resistance to losing weight or letting go of the cigarettes. These are often situations where people have tried really hard for years to control their weight or to quit Nicotine and have found that no matter what they have tried it has failed. In these cases, Hypnotherapy can be used to discover the root cause of this resistance and remove it permanently.
